Parent privacy notice

Information for parents and guardians about learner accounts.

Parent-linked consent requiredParent rights liveNo behavioural advertising

This notice explains how Informative Academy collects, uses, protects, and manages personal information for learners under 16 and the parents or guardians linked to them.

We aim to collect only what is needed for education, safety, consent, and support. Parents can review, export, delete, withdraw consent for, or restrict optional data collection on a linked learner account.

Information we collect

Only what is needed to run the service safely.

Learner account details such as name, date of birth, login identity, country, and saved preferences.

Educational records such as lesson progress, submitted work, and other learner outputs needed for the product experience.

Parent account details used to verify consent, manage linked learners, and handle support or billing where relevant.

Security, consent, and service logs needed to protect the platform and evidence key actions.

How we use it

Education, safety, consent, and support.

We use this information to provide lessons and interactive tools, save learner progress, protect platform safety, and respond to parent requests.

We record consent events so we can evidence which notice version was shown, when consent was given or changed, and which linked parent account completed the action.

We do not sell learner data or use it for behavioural advertising.

Verifiable parental consent

Current live flow plus room for higher-assurance methods where needed.

For learners under 16, a parent or guardian must complete a parent-linked activation flow before the learner can access the full experience. Today, the live method is a secure parent account link and confirmation path tied to the learner account.

We may add stronger verification methods in future for specific regulatory, school, or regional assurance requirements. Keeping those options documented does not mean every method is currently active in the live product.

Consent records include the event timestamp, a hashed IP address, the notice version presented, and the parent account involved.

Parent rights

Review, export, delete, withdraw, or restrict.

Parents and guardians can request review, export, deletion, consent withdrawal, and optional-data restrictions for a linked learner account.

Some rights are handled directly in product surfaces. Others require a verified request and follow-up through the parent rights workflow.

Public guidance is available at /privacy/parent-rights.

Request handling

Verified, logged, and time-bound.

We require an authenticated parent account and a verified parent-child linkage before we action a request.

Privacy-sensitive actions are logged for audit and compliance purposes.

Where privacy law requires a formal response window, our maximum target is 30 days. Deletion requests also include a confirmation step when completed.

Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies are always on. Analytics is optional.

Essential cookies support sign-in, security, consent, and saved browser preferences.

Optional analytics cookies stay off until a user chooses to allow them in this browser.

More detail is available at /privacy/cookies.

Sub-processors and retention

Limited providers, limited purpose.

We use a limited set of providers to run the platform, including Firebase, Vercel, MailerSend, Stripe, and OpenAI for defined service purposes.

Personal information is kept only as long as needed for the educational service, safety obligations, and legal record-keeping.

When a linked learner account is deleted, the platform uses the existing hard-delete cascade and records the action for audit purposes.
