Spaced Repetition
Review what you are learning at growing time gaps. The forgetting between sessions is part of why it works.
Example
You learn ten Spanish words on Monday. Quick review Tuesday. Next review on Friday. Next one a week later. Then once a month. By the end of the term those ten words are stuck. Cramming all the reviews on Sunday would have lost most of them.
How it fits in
If you review something just before you would forget it, the next interval can be longer. The schedule itself does the work. Most of the gain comes from spacing the reviews, not from spending more total time studying. Apps like Anki automate this; a paper diary works just as well for short topic lists.
