Realised Return
The gain or loss that actually happened over a stated period after the result is known.
Example
Lena starts with $100 and has $92 one year later. Her result for that year is a loss of $8, whatever the earlier estimate said.
How it fits in
State the dates, starting amount, ending amount, income received, and charges included before comparing realised returns. A result shown on screen may still be unrealised if the holding has not been sold, but it is still a real change in value. One strong or weak period does not prove what the next period will deliver.
